U21 Team of Georgia played the second Qualifying Round match of UEFA U21 Championship in Zestaponi on 9th of September, 2009. Otar Gabelia’s Team won 4:0 to U21 Team of Turkey.
Georgian players scored two goals in both halves of the match. Giorgi Ivanishvili opened the score at the beginning of the match. On 35th minute Giorgi Khidesheli doubled the goals. By the end of the match Georgian players Lasha Totadze and Giorgi Gugava scored two more goals. The match ended 4:0 host Georgians winning.
U21 Team of Georgia will play three more qualifying round matches of UEFA U21 Championship. They will oppose U21 Team of Ireland in Ireland on 9th of October, then host them in Georgia on 14th of October. On18th of October they will play against the host Switzerland.
