U13 Team of Georgia became the winner of the Latvian International Tournament “Liepaja Cup”.
Nodar Akobia’s Team won all the matches played at the tournament. They defeated local Team “Metalurgh” with the score 2:0 in the final and became the winner of the tournament. Nika Lashkhia and Nika Koridze scored the goals. This is the first incident that the winner of the Latvian Tournament is not Latvian Team. U13 Team of Georgian managed to do it.
U17 Team of Georgia took the third place in the International Tournament of Palanga.
Koba Jorjikashvili’s Team played the last match against the U17 Team of Belarus and won 5:1.
U13 Team of Georgia started the second stage of the Latvian tournament with the victory.
After the three matches won yesterday, U13 Team of Georgia played against the local Team of Liepaja “Metalurg 98” and defeated 2:0. The goals were scored by Giorgi Jobava and Nika Koridze.
The first day of U13 Team of Georgia at the International Tournament Liepaja Cup in Latvia was successful. Nodar Akobia’s Team played three matches and won all of them with a good score.
U13 Team of Georgia played the first match against the Latvian Team “FC Daugava” and won 3:0. The goals were scored by Vato Arveladze, Nika Koridze (penalty kick) and Giorgi Jobava.
International Tournament Liepaja Cup will be held in Liepaja, Latvia from 26th till 28th of August, 2010. U13 Team of Georgia will participate in the tournament.
“Liepaja Cup” takes place traditionally in August. 16 teams from 9 countries will participate in the tournament this year.
UEFA President Michel Platini has paid official visit to Georgia on 9-10 August, 2010. He was accompanied by Mr. Theodor Theodoridis, UEFA Deputy General Secretary; Mr. Thierry Favre Stadia&National Associations Manager and Mr. Jean-Louis Genovesi.
