The Georgian Football Federation headquarters hosted a meeting of its executive committee today. Georgian football’s governing body approved the scheduling of the 2015-2016 season’s second round of games in the national Top Division, First Division, and the Reserves League. Furthermore, the executive committee changed the regulations regarding the scheduling of the David Kipiani Georgian Cup Final, which will now take place on 18 May instead of 26 May. Members of the executive committee also discussed the State Football Development Programme. Details of this project were presented to the executive committee by the GFF president Levan Kobiashvili. Details of the five-year programme will be presented to the wider public on 18 February at 18:00 at the Courtyard Marriott hotel. Executive committee member and former player Tengiz Sulakvelidze was appointed the head of the GFF’s refereeing committee by the executive committee, in accordance with the regulations.
Afterwards, the GFF general secretary David Mujiri spoke about the meeting of the executive committee:
“As you know, the second round of the national championship starts on 19 February. The calendar has now been approved by the executive committee. With regards to the David Kipiani Georgian Cup, as you know, the final was due to take place on 26 May. However, this date coincides with the national team’s trip to Austria, where friendly games have already been arranged against Slovakia and Romania. Therefore, the final will now take place on 18 May. Today we mainly spoke about the five-year project which has been approved by the Georgian government. The Football Federation is planning to present all the details of this project to the wider public on 18 February.”
