European U-19 Trophy in Ergneti

The 2017 European Under-19 Championship trophy continues its tour around the country. On 19 June, the tournament’s main prize was brought to Ergneti by the Georgian Football Federation president Levan Kobiashvili and the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, Tariel Khechikashvili.

At the football ground in Ergneti, the local youth team took on their counterparts from the village of Meghvrekisi. The visitors won the match 1:0. Afterwards, Mr. Kobiashvili and Mr. Khechikashvili told the young players and fans about the upcoming championship.

The European Under-19 Championship will be hosted by the cities of Tbilisi and Gori on 2-15 July. Hosts Georgia will be joined by the U-19 national teams of Sweden, Czech Republic, Portugal, England, Germany, Bulgaria and Netherlands. The opening game of the tournament will be contested by Georgia and Portugal on 2 July at 20:00 at the Tengiz Burjanadze Stadium in Gori.
