The new season of the School League has officially kicked off at Tbilisi Public School No. 172. Within the framework of the UEFA Grassroots Week, the opening day of the competition was attended by the General Secretary of the Georgian Football Federation, Davit Mujiri, and School League Project Manager Otar Abuladze. To mark the start of the new season, the teams participating in the tournament were gifted sports kits by GFF.

The School League is one of the key projects aimed at increasing the participation of children and adolescents in football across Georgia. The competition is held in three age categories (U-12, U-15 and U-18) and involves nearly 10,000 students from more than 1,000 schools nationwide.

During the UEFA Grassroots Week, particular emphasis is placed on promoting football among children and encouraging their participation in sporting activities. One of the week’s key events was the attendance of children at the match between the national teams of Georgia and Northern Ireland on 25 September. A total of 7,500 students aged 10–14 from football schools attended the match.

The UEFA Grassroots Week takes place annually across Europe. Its main objectives are to involve as many children and adolescents as possible in football, improve access to the game, and encourage an active lifestyle. Each year, the Georgian Football Federation organises a range of activities as part of the initiative.
