A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the Georgian Football Federation and the sports agency SBM about organising the Georgian national futsal championship. It has been signed by the GFF president Levan Kobiashvili and SBM’s director Zaal Chitaladze.

In accordance with the agreement, the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 seasons of the national futsal championship will be jointly organised by the GFF and SBM. This year, the Georgian Futsal League will start on 14 March, and will involve 8 teams playing a single round of games. The top 4 teams will then contest two rounds of play-offs to determine the champion.

In a new development, teams will receive money for each league point. The finalists and champions will receive additional bonuses. The Georgian Futsal League games will be held at the New Sports Palace. A special presentation will be held on 10 March regarding the start of the championship.
